Does Cluely work on Linux?

No. Cluely officially supports macOS and Windows only (verified 2026-07-18) — there’s no Linux desktop client, and we have no evidence of a browser-based fallback that would work on Linux either. SyntaxCue doesn’t have a Linux client at this time, so this isn’t a point of difference between the two products — it’s the same limitation on both sides. Cluely does have a mobile app, but that’s a separate thing from desktop Linux support and won’t help if you’re interviewing from a Linux laptop.

What Linux users typically do instead

There’s no Linux build to configure, so the realistic options are about the machine you interview from, not the software:

• Use a secondary macOS or Windows machine for the call, if you have access to one.
• Run Windows via a VM or dual-boot for the specific interview. Real-time audio capture inside a virtual machine can be unreliable — audio routing between host and guest is exactly the kind of thing that breaks — so test it well in advance rather than assuming it works on the day.

These are general workarounds for macOS/Windows-only software, not anything Cluely (or SyntaxCue) documents or endorses. We’re not aware of an official Cluely Linux workaround, beta, or roadmap commitment, so we won’t point you at one that may not exist.

This affects SyntaxCue equally — no advantage here

To be direct: this isn’t a page where SyntaxCue quietly comes out ahead. SyntaxCue supports macOS and Windows only, same as Cluely. The architectural differences that distinguish SyntaxCue elsewhere — local transcription, BYOK, no vendor backend in the audio path — don’t change the platform picture: if you need a native Linux tool, SyntaxCue isn’t one either.
